About Zafarios
Zafarios is school management software connecting students, parents, teachers and administrators. It is open source: a school can run it on its own server without paying for the software. We earn from the work around it — hosting, implementation, data migration, integrations, training and support.
What the Software Does Today
This list is limited to functions that have been run and observed working, not to what is planned:
- Attendance registers, which also work with no connection and sync exactly once when it returns
- Assignments and grading, from a teacher setting work to a student seeing the mark
- Messaging between teachers and parents, under rules each school sets
- Video and audio classes
- A parent portal, showing only children verifiably linked to that parent
- A student portal and timetable
- Role-based dashboards, documents and in-app notifications
- Separation between schools, tested by attempting cross-school reads and confirming they fail
- An Android app that installs and runs on a physical handset. It is not on Google Play, and there is no iOS app
In Development
Not available, and not to be described as working: fees, invoicing, transport, cafeteria, rentals, assessments, rewards, reports and announcements. There is no public API, no government or EMIS integration, no native push notification, and no biometric attendance.
